Ah, so I see you have picked up the thread that Mister Holmes has left behind. Yes, he indeed came here to visit to discuss our predicament after my brother Thomas sent a letter to request his help. I will tell you exactly what I told him.
Aunt Clara was getting on in age. Started to lose her marbles. She was acting as if she was some young filly again. She even placed personal ads in the newspaper! I am certain her late husband would be rolling in his grave if he saw the way she was… dallying around with strange men.
I have no doubt it must be one of her suitors. After all, it is no secret that Clara was left with a considerable amount of money. We argued about it, actually. She just would not consider my concerns. She reckoned using her maiden name was enough protection to keep exploiters at bay. Unfortunately, she did not take kindly to my sage advice. In fact, we had an awful fight and she retreated to her summer home.
I think she's stopped now, at least, I’ve not spotted her absurd postings in the newspaper anymore. Unfortunately, I do not have the address.
